Sit with Sabrina

You decide to sit with Sabrina, which makes her very happy. Callum doesn’t seem bothered by this, either. He gives you a fist bump as he wanders across the classroom for a new partner.

“So,” Sabrina says, folding her arms on the table and setting her chin down on her hands. “What’s your sign? I bet you’re a Pisces. Sensitive and sweet. Or maybe a Scorpio? Or…”

Sabrina tilts her head and scans your face. “Have you met my twin brother? He goes here, too, of course. Oh! Wait!” Sabrina reaches into her purse and pulls out a plastic-wrapped candy.

“Ring a bell?” You stare down at the candy. It’s a popular brand of chocolate. Nothing ‘ringing a bell’, though. You shake your head, which makes Sabrina giggle. “My family. This is us!”

She passes the chocolate onto your desk. You blink in disbelief. “Your family owns the Venus Candy Company?” Sabrina nods and unwraps the chocolate for you, then says, “We sure do.”

That must mean Sabrina’s family are unbelievably rich. She lifts the chocolate to your lips. “Go ahead. This one has cherry juice inside.” You reluctantly part your lips, and she pushes it in.

The flavors burst in your mouth. It’s delicious. Sabrina smiles and watches you chew the chocolate. “Okay, now that we’re friends,” she says, passing you her phone. “Add your number.”
