Sit with Riley

Everyone says that Riley is your rival. She's getting pretty famous in America, scoring a lot of goals and getting really good stats. She scored a very fancy goal that went viral a few months ago, and it probably helps that she's extremely cute and friendly.

You saw today how good she is. Maybe better than you. That worries you a bit, but...

You go and sit next to her. She looks surprised.

"Hi," she says. "Good times today. I really enjoyed it."

"Me too," you say.

She chatters away happily about the game, and how good all the girls are, and doesn't really give you any room to cut in and try to charm her.

Eventually you get your chance as she eats her pie.

"All the girls in my cabin are going to go to the pond to skinny dip," you tell her.

"I wish I could do that," she says wistfully.

"Why can't you?"

"I just can't. I'm going exploring instead."

You are confused. "What? Where?"

"Into the woods. I heard there's more than just this soccer camp here. There's more stuff out there, people have seen it. Apparently there's a swim camp on the other side of the lake. I want to check that out."

"Why?"

Riley grins. "Who doesn't like to see girls in swimsuits?"

"Can I come?"

She seems surprised that you would ask that. "Well, OK," she says with a shrug.

Not exactly the date you were going for, but Riley's a bit weird. You want to spend more time with her.

True to her word, she wants to sneak away as soon as it's getting dark. You go with her into the woods, looking back at your own cabin, where you know those girls will soon be splashing around naked in that pond...

But Riley has a flashlight and she's looking cheerful and excited to go walking through the woods at night.

You notice her adjusting her shorts and realize she's like you down there... that's why she won't skinny dip. She's hiding it. That explains a lot.

You go with her, and while walking through buggy, hot, woods in the dark is not your idea of fun, she seems positive about it. You aren't sure why.

You head for the lake, and finally reach the shore.

Just like Riley said, there are lights on the far side. But there are also some lights much closer: in the woods just a short distance away.

"I wonder what's over there," Riley says.
