Chapter 3

What's next?
Sir Ilyas
You were glad that [Archmage] Thasar had created the Advanced Magical Conduits. Thanks to them, lightning, heating, and nearly every system powered by mana crystals functioned more efficiently, and simply better.
You were also grateful that the mansion had been built by [Architect] Kaiser using Wardralith Marble. The white stone held a natural luminosity that brought light to the interior, something you deeply appreciated.
You saw Sir Ilyas standing alongside the guards in front of the young master’s room. His black hair, streaked with white, was neatly combed and meticulously styled. He wore only the sharpest clothing — nothing less was ever acceptable for him — and his posture and poise were flawless, as always.
He was the living symbol of how a noble should look and act. As a [Teacher of Nobility] and a [Graceful Noble], he was a figure many admired and aspired to emulate. He had served Lydia for forty years and continued his duties with unwavering diligence. Once the mentor of Lord Marcus, he now guided young Lord Brody.
You wondered why he might be here; he knew it was usually you who attended to the young master in the mornings.
“Good morning, Sir Ilyas,”
You greeted the old gentleman with a light bow.
“Good morning, Haris. Punctual as always — a quality I very much wish our young master possessed.”
He replied matter-of-factly as he closed the watch on his wrist and gently slipped it into his pocket.
“Well, he has other qualities that inspire many. He’s just a heavy sleeper.”
You said, attempting to put Brody in a better light, though it didn’t seem to make much difference.
“Indeed. Tell him I'll be waiting for him at the teleportation circle, and not to forget his sword this time. And tell me, are you continuing your study of Thamratic?”
You brightened at the question and answered him in Thamratic. You’d been studying hard lately and had reached an impressive level for a self-learner.
“Excellent. We’ll need to work on your accent, but still, very impressive how quickly you’ve grasped its complex sentence structure. You’ve really grown, huh.”
You saw him smile, and for a brief moment, the strict and authoritative aura around him softened. It caught you off guard and you could only weirdly smile at your exposure sudden affectionate side of him. Then, just as quickly, he turned and left you to tend to the young master.
What's next?
[Lucky Soul]
A young lad’s journey to glory and heroism, to the path of fallen and unholy, or to becoming the greatest cocksucker the kingdom has ever seen.
You’re an orphan who has been adopted, though not officially, for many reasons, by [Lord] Marcus of Lydia, one of the northern lordships of the kingdom of Elaria, lying beyond the Haven's Mountains and nestled between them and the sea. You lived a relatively simple life in the most progressive and well-off lordship, thanks to its thriving trade port. Yet your fate is about to change. The clouds of war linger over the kingdom of Elaria. The secrets of your past, shrouded by the of your parents and the purge that followed the internal war during the formation of the Holy Drast Empire, are beginning to surface once again. Let yourself play the game of courts, survive the politics of various factions, lose yourself in the mind-shattering pleasures of the elite, and perhaps even become a hero for your people. It’s time to choose who you are, for the kingdom of Lydia, for yourself, and for those you care about, as fate moves, relentless and unforgiving.
