Is anyone going to stop him?
Shree does.
"Because, dear uncle," the one with the crest says, gently putting her hand on his arm, "if you do, we lose any sort of support from the Lusandar House, and for being the ones to breach a peaceful meeting, the Gurdracks would be known as Oath-Breakers." She eyes him evenly with a look of steel. "Am I going to be the one to explain to Spikeback as to how that happened? I really don't want to be in the hall, while Spikeback brands my dear uncle a traitor and does what he usually does to them. I mean, you know what he does, uncle. You've brought him several already. I'm sure we can all still remember how they screamed, and howled in pain as he kept cutting off limb after limb, just as their nerves regrew back, so that their first sensations were of pure, agonizing pain. The sizzle and smell of burning iron meeting flesh and sca-"
"SILENCE!" Reemaw yells, matching her gaze. She just gives him a wry smile and he glowers at her. With an angry grunt, he releases you, and you drop straight-legged on the floor, not giving him the satisfaction of even a slight bend.
Clapping her hands together, Selas beams at all of you. "Well, now that we've gotten introductions out of the way, I think we should take this meeting somewhere else. Shree, why don't you and my consort go and take a walk around the place? Get to know each other a little better? Mara, the bracelets if you please?"
Walking forwards, Nanny Mara produces a pair of silver bracelets with gold trimmed edges from behind her and presents them to you and Shree. You eye it suspiciously but Shree picks hers up, studies it for a moment, and then puts it on. Letting out a long breath, you put yours on too. A short jolt of electricity shoots through your arm, and you see Shree flinch as well. "Don't worry Sir," Mara smiles, leaning down and whispering quietly in your ear, "it's a little something that will keep Miss Shree unrecognizable to other humans, while you're out and about."
Your eyes narrow. "What about that field thing? I thought they weren't supposed to leave."
"Battle-Master Reemaw and Lady Weyt aren't. Miss Shree is. There isn't much for her to do here, and, forgive me for saying this, but the two of you will be a distraction while the Mistress and I try to negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement with the Gurdracks." Straightening up, she dusts off your sleeves. "So, you two have a good time, enjoy the sights and stay out of trouble, understand?" You nod, and she nods back. Giving Shree another polite curtsy, she opens the door and motions for Selas to leave first, then the Gurdrack contingent, and then herself, leaving you and the dragonness alone.
You and Shree stand silently together, trading awkward glances and smiles. "So...," she says, with a long exhale, "where are we going?"
