As you lay there tears slowly well in your eyes as realization sets in. You are girl now and will be for the rest of your life. Despite your best efforts to fall back asleep and wish the nightmare away the room starts to light up with the rays of dawn. Jessie stirs next to you and a minute later bolts upright.

Jessie lifts his hands to his bare muscular chest, now devoid of boobs. He then bows his head holding it up with his hands. You sit up as well and rest your hand on his back. He does not react but you hear him sniffling.

"It's official," you say. "I'm a girl and you're a boy from here on." Your eyes water and your voice catches in your throat. You knew it would happen, why cannot you stop yourself from tearing up?

Jessie looks up and you see the pain. He takes a deep breath and gives you a smile, "we did the right thing."

You cannot help yourself, seeing this strong man in front of you, you feel so safe. You hug him tightly and start bawling. Jessie holds you close and pats your head.

Once you stop crying, he wipes your tears away, "shall we tell your sister?"

You take a deep breath and nod your head. Once dressed the two of you leave your room and knock on Nicoline's door.

There is no response and you knock again. You are about to knock a third time when you hear movement. She opens the door rubbing sleep from her eyes. When she opens them and sees the two of you her sleep instantly dispels.

"You! What are you doing here?" you cannot tell if she is more angry, embarrassed or scared.

"To apologize and to explain. It's not what you think," you say putting your hand on the door in case she tries to slam it. "There's no easy way to say it so I'll just say it. I'm your brother and this is Jess my girlfriend."

Her silent disbelief is expected and you continue, "two days ago we woke up just like this, our genders swapped. We get a call from some sicko, who tells us, I'll turn back into a boy if I do not get pregnant and Jess will turn back into a girl if he gets a girl pregnant. I know it sounds crazy and stupid but it happened."

You continue your story with Jess interjecting periodically. The story is so farfetched she believes you. It would have been hard to make up a story like that so convincing. Just to be sure she asks a few questions only you would know about childhood and family life. Niki sits on the edge of the bed staring down at her feet completely convinced, "you gave up your gender to protect me?"

After a moment pause you say, "we did."

She shuffles her feet, "how can I repay you for that?"

"You owe us nothing, you shouldn't have brought you into this," says Jessie. You hold his hand a squeeze it and smile.

"I suppose you'll not be able to stay here will you and what will our parents think and yours Jess?"

You squeeze Jessie's hand tighter, "I guess not and I don't know."

"Mom and dad won't be back for a few more days, we can try thinking of something," says Niki.

Weeks later you text your sister to meet up. Thanks to her help you managed to get a job and place to stay. The hardest part was trying to get a new identity but Jessie and you were in the final phases of that. Despite now living apart your sister, Jessie, and you were closer than ever. The parents however you still had not figured out. They were beyond furious that you had simply left saying good bye with a text and then never available to meet up. Jessie's were not happy either and were proving more difficult to evade. You would have to do something but were not sure what it would be yet.
