Shorab listened to the whispers of his seductive stepmother and ordered the immediate execution of his uncle Anis for the **** of his father, Sultan Abuz. That first child was only the beginning.

And yet, in the stillness of night, when Yasmina lay sleeping beside him with her dark hair splayed across his chest, a quiet thought sometimes crept into Shorab’s mind.
