Shopping on Adam's day off.

Today was Adam's day off but it would not be much of a day off since apparently he had invited over some new co-worker and his sister to see if Jessup could get her a job. To add on top of that I had forgotten some important things for the upcoming cook out and I needed to go get them, so here I was driving down the road to the mall again when I should be home alone with my husband. Our time apart had really been getting to me, I loved that he worked so hard to give us this nice house and get whatever we needed, but time with him was priceless. Deep down I wanted to start a family, I had been wanting a kid for a while now and the more time I spent alone the more I thought keeping myself busy with a kid would help. I knew it was a lot of responsibility, hard work and lack of sleep But I had been wanting a family for a long time now and we had the perfect home to start one. With Adam working so much I just did not think we would even have time for me to get pregnant at this point, but I needed something more in my life. I sighed as I took the road out of the inner city and made my way toward the mall, I was at least looking forward to the cook out and our double date, any time with Adam was becoming more and more precious to me. A small part of me wanted to try and get wild at the double date like our neighbors did and see if he would go for it, being pent up as well as lonely was becoming a bad combination for me.

As I merged in with traffic my thoughts went back to when me and Lilly had come here last time, our talk about Jessup and her teasing me, a small dark part of me wondered how much of it was true. I had been a wild woman growing up, Adam and I had fun doing all kind of crazy things together, but I had buried that part of me when we got married. Now I felt like I was not being true to my self, like I was giving up all my fun in life to be what was expected of me, sure I wanted a family but I had to wonder if this was the way to do it. My stomach turned over at these thoughts, there was no way I was going to leave Adam, he was the love of my life, but I felt like I needed more and I was not sure how to satisfy that feeling within me. I briefly considered talking it over with him, but I did not want him to feel bad, I knew he did not like working this much and was only doing it to provide me with a better life. I was just a few miles out from the shopping centers of the city, and my destination the mall, I smiled a little knowing how fun the BBQ were with Greg and Lilly. Greg was a master at grilling meat, he even said he had once wanted to open his own dinner but he knew it was a bad business decision as most failed very quickly if they were not that popular. Lilly was also the master of making some mean mixed drinks that tasted so sweet but packed a real punch, if it was not for Adam there was a couple of times I would of woken up somewhere random, but he always got me home and in bed.

I passed all sorts of shops and stores, the mall was a pretty central location here and the place to go for whatever you needed, it was also the home to the theater me and Adam used to go on dates to. A small nugget of an idea, going on a movie date here again sank into my brain but I dismissed it, no doubt he would not have the time for it. Shopping in the mall was fine, I may of spent a little too much time looking at some new clothes and even buying a few of them. After an hour or so I was loading up the car with our cookout essentials and maybe a few other things just for me, if my husband was going to work all the time I might as well enjoy the benefits. I went for my phone to call Adam and see if his guest had arrived when I noticed my phone was not in my purse, "Shit" I exclaimed outload as I began to dig through my car. I looked everywhere and could not find it, a part of me worried I had lost it, more likely I had left it at home, with a sense of urgency I took off home. I was driving fairly fast in my rush to get home as my mind pondered where my phone could be at, hopefully Adam would not have to buy me another one or even worse someone could still all my info off of it. A dinging noise grabbed my attention as I looked down to see that I was nearly out of gas, "fuck, not now" I cried out, I could stop at the next gas station or just head home. All I had to do was make it through the inner city and reach our little neighborhood a few miles away, but if my phone was stolen then waiting could lead to me losing a lot of important data to some thief, a sign noted that there was a gas station not but a few miles from here. I gritted my teeth as the car dinged again to alert me of the low gas, how had I been so stupid not to fill it up before I left to go shopping, I needed to decide what to do because once I passed that gas station I was going to focus on getting home.
