Shockingly Quiet

I woke up to a slight weight on my chest. As my vision came into focus, I saw curly red locks as I looked down. Winnie was in her human form, arm draped over me and head resting on my shoulder. I could just barely pick up the sound of her soft breathing. Without thinking, I reached up and stroked her hair. As soon as my fingers touched scalp, her eyes fluttered open.

I braced myself, expecting a shriek and a slap. Instead, she looked at me with bleary eyes. "Mmm...hi..." she mumbled with a tiny smile. She laid her head back down on my shoulder, closing her eyes. "I...could get used to waking up like this." I was shocked. Her head raised back up. "Don't stop now, idiot," she grumbled. I resumed stroking her hair and she nuzzled my chest.

Well, that was more like it. She seemed quite content. Maybe she just wasn't awake enough yet. "You're...not mad?" I ventured, not sure what to make of it. Sighing, Winnie made a noise that was probably a negative. "Are you?" she countered. For a second, I had no idea what she was talking about. Then I remembered the fall that happened yesterday. "No..." I admitted.

Again, Winnie raised her head to look at me. "Then shut up and let me enjoy this," she insisted. Fine with me. I found myself drifting back off to sleep. I woke up again to shifting weight on the bed. Winnie was putting the stretched out yoga pants and t-shirt back on. "Managed to save these this time, huh? ...I need new clothes. Stretchy ones," she mused

Sitting up in bed, I snickered. "You...uh...might want a different pair of pants first," I suggested. She seemed confused before I guess she felt a draft from one of the holes in the pants. She pouted and huffed. "We'll go get you something later today," I offered. She nodded before standing up and stretching. I wondered if I should confront her about her new behavior...or maybe ask why the fuck her other self wanted cubs with me so much...
