Chapter 39 by protress protress

How does Shirou talk to Sakura?

Shirou shows Sakura she is not unworthy

"Sakura, would you come over here and sit down so we can talk?" Shirou asked calmly. Sakura dutifully walked over to her master and sat down on the floor in front of him. Shirou could see in the fear building in Sakura's face. Is she afraid I am mad with her, or is it something else?

"I'm not mad or upset at you Sakura," he began and Sakura's face lite up slightly when she heard she had not wronged her master. "I just would like you to get my approval to make a harem before you do it."

"I'm sorry, master," Sakura said, bowing low to apologize.

Shirou took a big breath. I guess now is as good a time as any, he thought. "This morning, when we were trying out the trance, I asked you why you wanted to make a harem for me." Shirou paused for a moment before continuing.

"And one of the reason's you gave was that you weren't worthy of me."

Sakura flitched slightly. "You're right, master," Sakura began quietly and she slowly looked up at her master. "I'm not worthy of you."

As her face came into view, Shirou could see tears forming in her eyes. "I...I'm just a worthless, little girl, who couldn't stand up for herself. Who had to use someone else's power to save herself." She sniffed, holding back her tears.

"I'm not like you, master. You never gave up, even when you knew you couldn't do it. Like with the high jumps, or with magecraft. Despite it seeming impossible to do, you still kept trying. And I... I...didn't."

"You shouldn't even have someone as worthless as me as your woman," she quietly cried.

Shirou reached out and gently put his hands on Sakura's shoulders. "You were never worthless, Sakura," he began.

"Yes I am!" she exclaimed. She wasn't angry at her master. She was mad at herself. "You only took me in out of pity because I used the notebook on you!"

"That's not true," Shirou argued. "I took you in because I love you. And I made you my **** because I wanted you to be mine."

"And I've never seen you as worthless, Sakura," Shirou paused before continuing. "I've always saw you as a goddess!" he exclaimed.

Sakura was quiet for a moment. "You really mean that..." Sakura spoke softly, her eyes meeting his.

"I do," Shirou affirmed. "I've always seen you as a beautiful and talented woman. Some one leagues beyond me."

"You have natural talent at magecraft, where I had no gift for it. You were able to successfully summon a Servant, while I did it so badly that Saber doesn't get the mana she needs."

"And it's not true that you didn't keep trying, because you kept coming to my house every morning. And I'm sure it wasn't just to spy on me for Zouken."

Sakura was quiet for a moment before she spoke, her voice a little shaky. "D...do you really think of me as a goddess?"

"Of course I do," Shirou said as he leaned closer to her. "You've always been my goddess. And I will prove it."

Turning towards his, desk, Shirou picked up a pen and wrote something into the notebook.

"What did you just write, sempai?" Sakura asked before she realized what she just said. "W...why didn't I call you 'master'?"

Shirou picked up the notebook, turned to face Sakura and held the open notebook out. On the page, Sakura could see the following:

Sakura Matou will temporarily not be Shirou Emiya's sex ****. She will resume that position when she next wakes up, if that is what she wants.

Sakura was stunned. "B...but why?"

"Because I want tonight to be about you," Shirou explained as he put down the book. "For tonight, I will do everything I can to show you that you are a goddess. So please, Sakura, tell me how you want me to worship you?"

Sakura's mind was a buzz with everything that had been said. Sempai always thought of me as a goddess... She knew he wasn't being literal with the worship, but it still made her happy. Sempai... no... master always thought highly of me. All this time, I thought I was unworthy and worthless. But master saw me as a goddess.

Zou was wondering what she should do. Maybe I should change clothes, she thought as she walked to her room. Suddenly, she stopped. She could feel a subtle magical energy coming from Shirou's room. I recognize this! Zou realized. It's a magecraft used to spy on people. Turning around, Zou ran back to Shirou's room. This feels like a magecraft from the Age of Gods. This is something a mage of the Wandering Sea could do, but none of them would have any reason to do that here. Could it be...

Her thoughts were interrupted as she turned the corner and saw Saber sitting on the walk way, looking up at the moon. Saber looked up at the panicked girl. "Is there something wrong?" she asked Zou.

"Lady Saber, I felt a powerful magecraft just now. It was coming from Shirou's room!" Zou quickly explained. Saber did not need to hear more. She jumped up and followed Zou. "Do you have an idea on who is doing it?" Saber asked as she followed Zou.

"I'm afraid it might be Caster!"
