Shioko did not always apear charming and kind neither was she passionless and disillusioned with society quite the opposite infact She was stern, hardworking, just a bit prideful and full of hopes and ambitions for the future.

Things however started to fall apart during the last years highschool, despite her hard work and dedication she had failed to achieve the goal of becoming student council president losing her coveted possitions to "popular girls" that did not really want anything to do with the student council to begin with and would have Shioko take care of their duties for them with hardly any word of appreciation. The second big strike was overhearing some teachers ridicule her and her dreams over her gender amongst many things despite this she managed to remain strong and persevere until her father her biggest moral support died from overwork and her mother who seemed to have found a new life partner quite quickly asked to drop out of school to support her younger brother this request on top of everything broke something in her so unable to stand her situation she run away from home and went to live with her uncle from her father's side. He was a bit distant but gave her her own space and even helped her move and resume with her studies however in return Shioko would have to pay him rent and even clean his house periodically, so when her part time job and cleaning duties ended up having a toll in her grades she just gave up all hope and started living purely for the sake of living.
