She works as a realtor

I felt the cool air on my skin. I grabbed a button up shirt and skirt, putting both on to look somewhat decent. I grabbed my keys from the counter and slid myself neatly into my heels. I rushed out the door and into my white car. The drive wasn’t far and driving itself wasn’t a problem, but there were probably already people at the door who would be happy to report me for my tardiness.

Upon arriving, I saw my first customer. She was staring at her phone, looking like she was about to make a call. I opened her door as I parked, throwing in the keys. I called out to the woman on the porch. She looked up at me and put her phone away. “Sorry for being late. Things happen sometimes.”

The short woman looked me up and down, examining me. “Well I’ve been waiting for fifteen minutes.” The prissy woman scowled. “Just hope this sale goes well.” I looked at her with a fake smile, waiting for her to turn around so that I could flip her off. I opened the door and gestured her in. She followed, staring once more at her phone.

“Well, this is the kitchen you just entered. A bit dated but it still shines.” The woman glanced around her for a second then returned her attention to her phone. I paused. “How about we look at the living room? I’m sure you’ll like it.” I lead the short woman into the larger room. She pushed up her glasses that looked like they were from the 80s. The woman looked up again to view the room for a couple seconds more than before. “Do you want to see the bedrooms? They’re right up-”

The woman pushed her glasses up again. “I think I’ve seen enough.” My facial expression didn’t change but my heart suddenly dropped. “I’m going to see the door. Goodbye.”

As she left, I knocked myself on the head. “Dammit! Get here a few minutes late and that’s what you get. It’s not even my fault! Fucking alarm clock unplugged itself.”
