Chapter 15 by Raljo Raljo

She wants Billy to run a boxing seminar

Lucy gave Billy a smile. He was, by far, her greatest student. Enough natural talent to fill an ocean, perfect physicality, and **** dedication and discipline when it comes to the sport - it was no wonder the young athlete had his undefeated record and championship status.

Billy wasn't just the best student Lucy had even seen, he might have been the most promising boxer of all time. Only 19 years old, and there were professional fighters in the top 10 that he could probably give a good fight. He had the potential to become the greatest boxer of all time, and Lucy nurtured him towards that role with all the plentiful coaching talent she had, often staying up late to make sure that he had the best chance of reaching his potential, just as she did for all of her students. But Billy, certainly, was her favorite. And he was just as fond of her.

“Billy, I’m sorry to put this on you, but would you be able to run a boxing seminar for me this weekend?” Lucy asked. “My sister’s having her wedding and I completely forgot I was scheduled for this.”

“What kind of a seminar?” Billy asked, leaning against the door.

“It’s to promote the school boxing club, as part of showing off our sports department and trying to get more of the girls involved. All you’d need to do is run a short course with some newbies, make it fun, and hopefully more female students sign up to join. Totally laid back. Are you up for it?”

Right. Coach Lucy had been talking up Billy’s skills to the school board, trying to get the sports department more funding and advertising, and as a result the school had introduced a new rule that all students had to join a sports club. There would be a lot of prospect new members, many of them girls that might think boxing was scary.

“Alright,” Billy nodded.

Lucy smiled. “You’re the best,” she said. “I think they’ll really like having the champion himself show them the ropes, as well.”

Lucy turned to leave, then stopped, and quickly turned back.

“Oh, one more thing. Because your sister only just got back from France, I actually asked your friend Matt if he could fill in first, since you probably want to spend some time with Anna this weekend after she’s been gone for so long.”

Billy grimaced, remembering how his little sister’s big return dinner had went for him.

“But Matt can only fill in one of the days. He doesn't mind which. I don't know what your plans are with Anna, so would you rather lead the class on Saturday or the one on Sunday?” Lucy asked. “On Saturday, you’d be teaching some of our female students. We’re mostly trying to involve the ones who aren’t doing any school sports, as well as the girls that are actually interested in taking up boxing.”

So, a mix of curious-and-adventurous girls, tomboys, and all of the **** ones being **** to attend the seminar by the school. Probably extending to a mix of the nerds, the shy girls, the spoiled princesses, and the popular pretty girls. All of them around Billy’s age, and possibly even some that he knows from class. The school boxing club was limited to only 18 year olds or older, so even the younger ones wouldn’t be that far removed from Billy.

“On Sunday, you’d be teaching the girls’ parents - well, their mothers, anyway. We’re trying to show that boxing is really a sport for anybody, man or woman, and we're hoping having the moms run through the seminar will alleviate any worries they might have.”

So, the sweet overbearing mothers who are worried about their daughters doing a violent “men’s sport”, the moms trying to get in better shape or trying to relive their youths, the Karens trying to snoop and find everything wrong with the school they can point at and mock, and the moms who just want to be involved. Interesting.

“So, which class would you rather run? The girls, or their moms? Both would be thrilled to be taught by our champion.” Lucy gave Billy another happy smile.

Billy stopped for a moment to think. First his plan to get knocked out by his mom got out of hand, and then when his sister came back from France, she actually managed to pull off K.O.ing the champion as well, somehow. Between the two losses to Heather, the bedtime-KO, and the humiliating defeat to Anna, the past couple of days have not been going well for him. Something easy like this was a perfect way to let off some steam and get back to being the best boxer in the room.

So, the only question was - did he want to run the seminar for the moms, or for the girls?
