She waits for him to make a move

She decided to wait and see if he would do anything. She’d never been much of a flirt anyway, and who knew if she wouldn’t end up looking ridicculus in front of him. She munched away on her sandwich, occasionally looking over to the guy, and quite often finding him look back at her.
Finally, when she was almost finished, he stood up from his table, laughing about something another boy had said, then looking over at her and starting to walk in her direction.
Doe swallowed down the rest of her sandwich hastily – of course she didn’t want to talk to him with food in her mouth – and batted her eyelashed flirtatiously when she realized that she was really his destination. She felt her cheeks flush ever so slightly when he smiled at her (he looked even better from up close) and leaned over the table to her.
„Hi,“ was all he said.
„Hi,“ Doe gave back and smiled as well.
„I’m John,“ he introduced himself. „I kinda... noticed you.“
„I guess you did.“ She didn’t really know what to say. How did one give a clever response to such a thing? She didn’t know.
„I was wondering if you’d be interested in going out sometime.“
That surprised her. Surely he couldn’t know he liked her from simply looking at her for a few minutes? Then again.... she thought he was hot, and she had done the very same thing.
„Umh...“ She brushed her hand though her hair nervously. „Generally, yes. When did you want to go out?“
„What about tonight?“ John suggested, catching her off guard again. She hadn’t expected that answer.
She looked around the room nervously, seeing that his guy friends from the other table were all looking over to her and John, seemingly interested in her reaction. That made her unsure. Maybe he was just playing with her, or testing her out. She bit her lip.
