Chapter 58 by Forcy Forcy

What are the most relevant jobs Kira had experience with before the apocalypse started?

She used to be a Professional Gym Trainer and a...

Michael's (the MC's) POV

"Well," Kira said slowly after a moment's hesitation, "my first big job before the dead rose was as a personal gym trainer, and I specialized as a running couch for a while. Does that seem relevant to you, Master?" She asked.

Your eyes widened slightly at that, realizing that this helped explain her fitness and her preference for wearing sports bra and athletic shorts even now. You exchanged a glance with Lieutenant Mills and realized the two of you had come to the same conclusion, so you turned back to Laurel's lover.

"Very much so," You assured her. "My group is quite a bit larger than what you see before you, and while several of them have military training and are great soldiers, there are also former civilians back in our apartment complex as well. Not all of them are in the best of shape right now, though, and our best fighters have to focus on defense, dangerous missions, and training more recruits to expand our ranks. So, if we could count on you to organize training regimens for the members of my group that are not on the fast track to join my guard, that would be great. After all, given the circumstances, getting them extra fit and increasing their stamina when it comes to running would be very important."

Kira nodded in understanding at the request and smiled a bit, seemingly pleased with your reaction to what she can bring to the table. "Good to hear. Does your apartment complex happen to have a gym, Master?"

"It does," You confirmed.

"Excellent. Then I will be happy to help. It has been a long time since I had to switch jobs before being **** into joining Carlos' gang. It will be nice to get back into it."

You raised an eyebrow at that. "I am glad you are pleased, but now I am curious: what was your other job?"

Kira grimaced. "Long story short, I was convinced to sign up for private security training by one of my few customers at the gym after a particularly difficult year. Because of my strength, speed, and stamina, I was able to pass before too long, and then my old client hired me out of the gate as a bodyguard. Unfortunately, it took me a while to realize that my old client was actually part of the money laundering front of Carlos gang, and by then I was a bit too deep to dare walk away, just like that.

"Hmph," You muttered. "The more I hear about your old gang leader, the more I don't like him."

"Trust me, sir; he has a lot of qualities to dislike," She said darkly, her eyes narrowing as if stuck on a memory.

You took a deep breath, noticing that Sergeant Garcia was scratching her chin in concentration at the mention of the hot woman's past job as a bodyguard. You sighed, your instincts warring for a moment as you looked at the expression of the lady you had just claimed as your property. Then you shook your head, making a decision.

"Well, you won't have to worry about living under his thumb anymore. And I meant what I said about your skills as a physical trainer being useful for the less fit among my group. As such, I suppose we can prioritize that so that we can fortify our physically weaker links. So, don't worry about joining my personal guard for now. I imagine you would prefer to take a break from such a job, given your bad experiences with it before society collapsed."

Her eyes widened at your concession. "Yes master. Thank you, master. That's very considerate of you."

You gave her a sad smile. "Don't mention it. It's the least I can do."

Then, you inhaled sharply since it sunk in that Team Lion had fulfilled their objective with the scavenging mission at the classified supply building and that they were now caught up with both Laurel and Kira for the time being, after they entered the equation that is.

And that meant it was time for you to fulfill your end of the bargain.

So, you grabbed your hand-held radio and decided to break radio silence with Team Three. You were going to need to coordinate the use of the drones when you tried to rescue Laurel's sister.

"Sergeant Foreman, do you read me?" You said slowly and clearly as you remembered the plan you that you had discussed with LT Mills. "This is your commanding officer speaking. Listen carefully..."

A/N: Sorry for the delay. I got extra busy with work. I intend to post the remaining chapters of this story arc as soon as I can.
