She tries to save her sister

Ai can’t leave her sister alone. It’s her sister, she would never forgive her if she left her to a towerling. On top of that, she’d never be able to continue through these defenses on her own.

Ai runs up to her sister and grabs her by the torso.

“What are you doing!?” Eve yells at her. “Save yourself! Get out of here!”

“I’m not leaving you!” Ai yells back and pulls on her sister as hard as she can.

As Ai pulls, the Writhing Mass doesn't loosen its grip on Eve’s legs. Ai pulls again and one of the tentacles lets go of Eve’s legs as Eveline makes an effort to stab at that specific one tentacle, making it easier for her to lose the rest of the tentacles, but the claw stays inside the tentacle as it's dragged away. Eve twists her legs, uncoiling them from the tentacles and Ai pulls again. This time the tentacles let go. Eve and Ai quickly distance themselves from the Towerling and start running deeper into the tunnel.

Once they are far enough away, they slow down and take a break.

“Thanks for not listening to me, sis.” Eve says. “If you had, I’d be pretty fucked right now.
