What does Becca do?
She takes it
Becca was tired of always getting in trouble by her little brother, so it was time for some payback. She took the object and placed it in her purse.
The handle of the door into the room rattled. Becca quickly shut the drawer as Andrew's voice came through the door. "Becca? Are you in there?" Becca made her way to the door and opened it.
"How'd you get in here?" Andrew asked.
"Your door was unlocked. I came inside and locked it behind me. You really shouldn't leave your door unlocked like that."
"Now isn't the time for a lecture," Andrew responded. He locked the door and made his way over to the desk Becca had just been rummaging through. He opened the third drawer. He rummaged around for a bit. He turned to his sister and asked, "You didn't take anything out of here, did you?" She shook her head, but smiled inwardly, figuring she had just taken the object he was looking for.
Andrew's rummaging became slightly more frantic. He searched for a good two minutes. "Where is it?!" he seemed close to freaking out at this point.
"Is it in another drawer?" Becca offered unhelpfully. Andrew opened the drawer above, searching like a madman. This went on for a while, Andrew tearing his desk apart looking.
Eventually, Becca asked, "How long were you gone with your door unlocked?"
"I don't know, like 15 minutes?"
"That's plenty of time for anyone to come in here and take something," Becca chided.
"Nothing else is gone though!" Andrew pointed out.
"Maybe they knew how important whatever you're looking for was."
"That's not... No one would..." Andrew stammered.
"What was it?" Becca asked, honestly curious.
"I can't really explain."
"Come on, you can tell me," Becca encouraged.
"I'm sorry," Andrew responded, "I really can't. You can't really help me without it, either. I'll ask around for it, and I'll text you again when I find it."
"Seriously?" Becca ticked, frustrated. "I came all the way here to help you and you send me off without any clue of what's going on?" She was close to giving it back to him, but wanted to really see him squirm.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry."
"Whatever," Becca dismissed. "Don't expect me to come running the next time."
She left the room.
