She takes a seat at the bar

It was nearly empty inside. A few guys sat at one table, a single bartended stood by the empty bar. Some 80s music played on the stereo. Abbie picked a barstool on one side, and took a seat. The bartender came over and slid a coaster in front of her. "Hey, you look new here. I'm Nate."

"I'm Abbie. Can I please have a margarita?"

"You want ice?"

"Yes, please."

"Salt?"

"Yes, please."

"You got it, Abbie."

Nate spun around, and whipped up a margarita for her. She took a sip -- a little strong, a little tangy, but it was hitting the spot.

Abbie sat back on her stool. Despite her long and tiring day, she still looked great. She wore a white linen shirt, buttoned up the front, with short sleeves and a simple collar. She had on a denim skirt that stopped just above her knees, a thick leather belt, and leather ankle boots.

"Thanks, Nate." She smiled at him. "I've never been here before. What's this place like?"

"Oh, it's pretty quiet, especially on Thursdays like this. We used to have a bigger crowd, but I don't know, the world happens and people fade. Man, Thursdays used to be huge -- Ladies Night! Those were the days."

"Not much of a Ladies Night tonight. I think I'm literally it."

"Yeah," said Nate. "We make enough to cover rent, and I guess the boss isn't all that interested in doing anything more right now."

"What kinds of things were part of Ladies Night? You know, back in the day?" Abbie asked.
