The two of you get moving quickly and she leads you west for about two hours till the forest clears slightly and you see a large river about a quarter of a mile across. You smile as you arrive and quickly strip and leap in to finally get clean. She joins you and quickly cleans up and you realize she seems a bit nervous. ?Are we in danger here?? You ask finally.?

?If the kings men are after you this is one of the places they will surely look, we are out in the open here, and without horses we are going to get caught sooner or later.?

?So what do we do?? You ask her as you climb out of the water and lie in the sun to dry a bit before getting dressed.

?The way I see it we basically have three possible means of escape if they are going to come after us. We follow the river south to it?s mouth, hiding to avoid any of the king?s men. Once at the mouth we should be able to catch a ride aboard a ship and head far away fairly easily. Or we instead go up stream into the mountains where it is said strange and terrible beasts roam. It is surely dangerous but no one would expect us to go that way. Our last real option, possibly the stupidest, is to simply keep walking west till we get to the next kingdom some 12 days walk from here. If we had horses I would like that idea, but as it is the most obvious it is surely the one where we will have the trouble with the kings men. Well I guess we do have one other stupid idea if you want, we go back to town and apologize for what you did, and beg for mercy.? She laughs at the last idea and looks to you for your choice.
