Chapter 23 by Manbear Manbear

Has Monica had enough as well, or is she the clingy type?

She sends you off

"Hey big man." Monica nudges you in the ribs, "don't you fall asleep here, there's barely room for me." With an exaggerated groan you swing your legs off the side of her bed and sit up. Monica curls up around you resting her head on your thigh and studying your face with careful consideration.

"Do you think I'm totally weird, Kyle." Her eyes search yours for any indication of how you feel. "I'm not always like that, I promise. It's just," she hesitates briefly but then goes on in a rush. "I started thinking about what it would be like to have a man like you come knocking on a girl's door, and I got a little carried away."

"Well, it was a little different for me." You admit, "but not totally weird."

"I'll take it." Monica laughs shyly. "Hey, umm, this doesn't mean we're dating, right?" She sits up and reaches for her nightgown, suddenly uncomfortable with lying half dressed on the bed. "I mean you seem really nice and if you want to go out sometime that'd be cool." She licks her lips nervously before finishing what she's clearly worried about. "It's just I don't want you to expect every date to necessarily end like this...I'm sorry Kyle, I'm saying this all wrong, but I just don't want you to think I'm some kind of kinky slut."

"Monica, you're fine. Really." You reassure the pretty blonde and are rewarded by a bright smile and toss of her luxurious hair. She pulls the skimpy nightie over her beautiful body and scoots over to sit by your side.

"You're such a gentleman, Mr. Hawkfeather." Something in her mannerism reminds you that you are a dozen years older than this young language teacher. Instead of getting annoyed, you accept the fact that this is not the right woman for you.

"And you, Miss Fulton, are too sizzlingly hot for an old man like me." Your answer seems to hit exactly the right combination of flattery and self depreciation, because Monica leans closer and kisses you softly on the cheek.

"You are not 'an old man' Kyle, but I am too 'sizzlingly hot' for a decent guy like you." That's the first time you've heard one of your lovers describe in this way. She doesn't come right out and say it, but somehow the word 'decent' seems to imply boring and safe.

When in the Hell did you become boring and safe?

Do you show her that you're not the man she thinks you are, or do you head back to your suite without protest?
