Ciri sits firmly in Kelpie's saddle, her wrists still red and sensitive from the restraints, but she hardly notices the pain anymore. Thirst burns in her throat, so she reaches for the water hose attached to the saddle. Her fingers tremble a little as she pulls out the cork. She puts the hose to her lips, the cold water immediately flows into her mouth. She swallows hastily, her throat finally feels less parched. But then, in the middle of swallowing, she chokes. Her eyes widen in surprise, she can identify the taste immediately. The water unmistakably tastes like semen. Ciri sits motionless for a moment, the water hose still at her lips. Despite the surprising realization and the unexpected taste, she swallows a few more times to quench her thirst. With a resigned sigh, she stows the hose back on the saddle. Her stomach grumbles, she needs to eat something now. She opens a saddlebag and pulls out a piece of bread, her fingers touching the coarse fabric. But here too, an unpleasant surprise awaits her.
