Chapter 10 by TheArchitect TheArchitect

Next action?

She protects herself.

"I guess I need those to keep rolling, so let's equip ourselves."

The protective gear all smelled new, high-quality and sporty, and its mere presence inside this exact locker was the most convenient thing ever.{If She knows = true}Jen could not wait to try out all of it.{else}Jen was full of suspicions, but keeping herself in one piece was definitely top priority.

She hopped onto the locker and strapped the knee pads in place first, as holding her legs aweigh required a lot of effort with these wicked skates on them. Quickly, the square clasps were pushed into place, and the girl no longer had her scratched knee in her sight. The pads did not have any adjustment options on their straps; instead, they simply happened to be a perfect fit.

Elbow pads were next. Jen slid them up her thin and smooth yet trained and muscular arms and strapped them closed. Immediately, she noticed that bending her arms was a fair bit harder, but there was no doubt her elbows were safe underneath.

A motorcycling helmet with toned visors was probably too much, but skates with high heels and no brakes were also no joke to handle, so she sighed and stuck her head inside, straining against her elbow pads to allow her hands touch her head. This made her movements clumsy, and an accidental collision with the chin piece hanging loose made it snap in place, shutting the helmet together.

{If She knows = true}"Fuqh!" — Jen gasped and tugged at it, but there was no release, just a keyhole where her mouth was supposed to be. The tight fit did not allow much movement, too, making her future speech audible, but jammed. Obviously, the rest of her armor also sported keyholes within their respective pits.

{else}Jen rubbed the complete heavy polymeric piece of safety, admiring the polished smoothness. She tried opening her mouth, but the tight fit only allowed minimum movement, making her future speech audible, but jammed.{endif}

The toning on the visor did make the girl's surroundings less blinding, but recognizing darker colours was now troublesome.

Jen is equipped for a skate.
