Chapter 28 by jw_wjw jw_wjw

Does Sam get clothes? Do Joanne and Lacey get a reprieve?

She only gets a coat, and kind of

Sam looked around the airport, and decided to just get a "Windy City" coat. She decided to just get the coat and wear it to the place. While the family wasn't exactly broke, it wasn't worth the extra money to buy even more clothes when her old coat did just fine. Besides, it was a little fun being exposed for so long.

Sam bought the coat with "Windy City" on the chest, and the flag of Chicago embroidered vertically on the back; she giggled at the clerk ogling her as she made her purchase and got dressed in front of him. She tried calling an Uber but found out that the city required her to get a cab from the airport instead. Sighing, she hailed a cab and put her heavy luggage in the trunk.

Meanwhile, Joanne and Lacey kept praying on the rice, praying that Walkowicz would come back and let them go. Which she did, eventually.

"Okay, you two can get up now," she said in an accent. The two rose while Walkowicz guided them to the upstairs apartment. "It is bedtime, please disrobe."

"What?!?!" Joanne and Lacey were in shock.

"You don't care about your bodies, so why are you surprised? I can't have you sleeping in whatever those are you are wearing. Give them to me now, and go to bed."

"Ummm," Joanne and Lacey looked for their bags while Walkowicz clarified "I put them all in the dresser, but it looks like only one of you packed any clothes. Now come on, I am not waiting any longer, I need to wash those ... 'clothes' of yours."

Joanne and Lacey sighed and undressed right there, handing their things for the old lady to take down to wash; Walkowicz's eyes widened as Joanne gave her her tiny underwear. After Walkowicz left, Lacey reached for the dresser when Joanne stopped her "honey, I think she doesn't want us to do that."

"When did she say that?" Lacey protested, noting that Walkowicz had said no such thing.

"I don't know, sweetie, I just got the hint. Luckily there's a bathroom for us to freshen up before bed, let's just do that and hope for a better day tomorrow."

"But moooom..." Lacey protested to no avail as Joanne led her to the bathroom to brush their teeth. As they nestled in their beds and readied themselves for slumber, Joanne finally remembered something.

"Oh shoot, honey, I forgot to tell her about Sam..."

What happens when Sam comes?
