She misses the bus

Unfortunately, Audrey does not make it to the end of her driveway in time.

She sees Mr. Jackson, the elderly bus driver, drive right past the stop. It seems that old man’s peripheral vision failed to see her trying to flag him down.

“FUCK!” Audrey exclaimed. “How the hell am I gonna walk to school? Fuck it, I’m taking the day off.” It was not like Audrey couldn’t miss a day. She had relatively good grades, besides that F in Ms. Dixon’s class. What was one day absent?

Audrey began to walk away from the general direction of the school. It would be best if she didn't get caught ditching class by the truant officers. Perhaps she could do some shopping at the mall or look for a job opening for some extra cash? These and other thought of how she should spend the day bounced around her head as she kept walking.
