She makes it out

Coco's heart jumped in her chest as she came closer to the security gate. Her father apparently didn't seem to notice that she took their latest work with her, hopefully the guards wouldn't notice either. Each step that took her closer to the gate however, made her heart pound louder and she started to get worried. 'Would people notice me? What if I got caught? Would I end up as a human trial?'

She reached the last door and closed her eyes for a moment. Her chest heaved up and down as she took a few deep breaths and tried to gather herself. Slowly she brushed her hair back and straightened her turtleneck pullover and her skirt. One final breath and then she pushed the door open, her security ID tight in hand as she held it up against the scanner. Again, she was waiting for the system to clear her and show the freeing green light.

Coco could her the clock on the wall ticking and an eternity seemed to pass as she stood there waiting. She could hear her heart beat in her chest and the sound of blood rushing through her body filled her ears. Then, finally, the LEDs turned green and she was out of the complex with only the guards at the entrance to clear her.

She took a deep breath again as the warm sun touched her face and she could smell the spring air. Her heart rate slowly returned to normal and she slowly walked towards her car. _'Hopefully, the guards will be in a light mood', _she thinks as she gets in the car. By now she almost forgot the glass tube was pressing against her skin and she smiles softly, as she picks it up and hides it in a pouch underneath her seat. There was still the problem of the anti-virus, but that was a problem for another day, if it was even needed.

Her car started smoothly and she drove up to the small guards office, flashing him an extra big smile.

"Hey Coco, didn't you just arrive? I know today was your last day, but I thought your dad and his colleagues still had a surprise for you"

"Hey James, no worries. I just forgot something at home, will be back in a few. Think you could just open the barrier for me, without the searches?"

James smiled and got out of his booth, approaching her car with one hand on her gun. He leaned in and took a look through her window. "You know, Coco, even for you it would be quite an exception if I did not search your car"

Her heart increased its speed in her chest again and her face blushed softly. For a moment she considered what to do before she leaned in and kissed his cheek softly, not more than a little peck and then whispered _"Please James, I really got to hurry, I still have some work to do. But how about you call me once I don't work here anymore?", while her hand slipped into his pocket and placed a small piece of paper in it. "Pretty please, James"_

He sighed softly and shook his head, James knew he could get in trouble for this, but the young beauty in front of him had him wrapped around her finger since she first visited her father at work. _"Fine, but you owe me that date, Coco". _He shook his head again and got back into his booth, opening the barrier for her and daydreaming about where to take her, as her car slowly disappeared out of his sight.
