She said with a hint of anger. "I-I always had a cold..." "Now Adam we have been over this before you are a horrible liar so you might as well tell me the truth," She said getting even closer, which made Adam shrink down even more. "I always thought that you were way out of my league. Forget a relationship, I thought that once you got to know me that you wouldn't even want to be my friend..." It was a minute before Adam looked up hoping that Cathy laughing at him would be the least of his worries, but he was surprised to find that she looked frustrated. "So you thought that I was away out of your league, but you were cute and caring. how could you put yourself down like that?" She said hugging Adam and getting really close. "Bet you didn't even know that I had a crush on you huh?" She said before closing and kissing. Adam was genuinely surprised by what was transpiring.

"Y-You had a crush on me?" Adam couldn't help but gasp in surprise after Cathy had finally pulled back. "I couldn't help but fall in the love with how kind and caring you were. None of the guys that I had dated even made me feel even this way like someone really cared about me. And how you tried your best to protect me from those old guys that didn't know how to keep their hands to themselves, and you blocked them and got hit because of it." She said before kissing him again. Adam was over the moon and didn't know what to say, there was someone that actually loved him for the goofy short dork that he was and he didn't even know it. "I-I had no idea," Was all Adam could say before she kissed him again and with more passion. After that Cathy told Adam to hang out with her so that they could get to know each other more and help him figure out what exactly he was going to do now that he looked like this.

After the shift ended Adam was holding hands with Cathy as they walked towards her house. This was something that he thought was never going to happen but look at him go, he was walking hand in hand with his beautiful coworker. "This is me right here," She said pointing to an apartment complex. "I really enjoyed tonight," Adam said while looking like he was going to jump to the moon and back. It was then that someone with incredible strength grabbed Adam from behind and started to **** him out. "R-Run Cathy," Adam could barely say as he tried to fend off the assailant. He thrashed around and threw the person to the wall but to no avail, and to Adam's surprise, Cathy didn't move but only watched as his vision turned dark.
