She is nice and helps Jaune

Ruby wasn’t sure if these feelings were entirely based on the age swap, or if it was just more pronounced because of it. It took a lot of self-restraint not to confess to Jaune immediately. She always liked him, but now he was just…. Something more. Pyrrha liked him too, so if their date goes wrong, there was a chance to swoop in. The thought upset her stomach and she felt horrible thinking about that. To make up for it, Ruby tried to help Jaune.

“White and blue are Weiss’s favorite colors,” Ruby continued. “So those should work. Don’t get a big bouquet. It’s just a first date, but maybe just a couple.”

“Good idea,” Jaune agreed, writing this down. “I was thinking of getting lunch at a nice café then a movie and see where that goes.”

“Weiss likes romance movies,” Ruby recalled. “Though not cheesy comedy ones.” Jaune nodded. “Café’s a good choice too and I bet she expects you to dress up.”

“Not sure I own a suit,” Jaune muttered, looking at the closet.

“Maybe a nice button down shirt then?”

“I have those.” Jaune nodded. “Should I plan for anything else after the movie?”

“I suppose it’s up to Weiss,” Ruby replied. “Ask her if she would like to do something and if she doesn’t suggest anything, have a backup plan.”

“Got it. I assume if she’s willing to go out for dinner, the dates going well.”

“Probably. I would be worried if she throws food in your face.” They both laughed.

“Ruby…” Jaune suddenly grew serious. “Thanks. I mean it. For everything. I know you don’t think we will get together, but you are still willing to help. It means a lot to me and I’m glad I found you in that crater.”

“Hey!” Ruby cried and pushed him lightly. “That was an accident, Vomit Boy.”

“Well, I’m glad it happened since we met.” Jaune hugged her. “You’re my best friend and again, thank you for everything.”

“I-It was n-no problem.” Ruby stammered. “I’m sorry, but I have to go. Need to… turn in a library book. Yeah! Overdue! I’ll see you tomorrow!” Jaune looked a little confused as she rushed out, but simply shrugged and went back to planning.

I can’t believe I almost kissed him there. Ruby thought in shock. During that hug, the temptation surprised her. He needs to finish with Weiss, plus Pyrrha likes him, so you have your work cut out for you. Distract yourself with something. Anything!

Her eyes traveled to the remote in her hand.

It was getting dark, but plenty of people were still active at Beacon. She had only tried out a couple functions of the remote. Wardrobe Swap, Life Swaps, and a Personal Info Age Swap. There was so many options left to keep her mind off of Jaune. Body Swap was one good option. She could be someone else and everyone would think she always looked like that. Personality Swap was a little scary, but tempting. She wouldn’t believe she was her target, but would act like them and people would assume that was normal too. Lastly, the Personal Info swaps were numerous and had some weird affects she could experience.

It was hard to decide.
