She goes to the park with friends

As she listens to her parents leave, she tries to distract herself by calling friends, determined to make the most of the sunny Sunday weather. Before long she's arranged to meet three friends for the afternoon at the local park, for a mixture no doubt of sun bathing, gossiping and possibly a little netball practice.

Glad she wasn't going to stay home and mop around the place cursing herself for thinking he might actually have meant it about seeing her again, she quickly gets herself ready to go out; bikini underneath a little skirt and t-shirt, sun lotion and water in her bag, and sunglasses on her head, determined to make the most of the day.

They arrange to meet at the park, just a short bus ride away, and by the time she gets to their normal spot in the park, two of her friends have already arrived and are stretched out catching the sun. And even as she is covering legs and arms in lotion, the forth of their little group arrives.

For a while they exchange gossip about mutual friends and stuff they've seen in the news and read online. And as the sun strengthens in the sky, skirts and tops are removed to reveal various bikinis, the four of them eager to get a more all over tan. As they lay out, she is asked what she had got up to the previous evening, and she's glad no one's looking straight at her as she feels herself blushing, before brushing the question off by telling them she was only at some boring event with her parents.

The conversation drifts in and out as they enjoy the warmth, when suddenly her phone beeps in her bag, quickly drawing her attention as she reaches for it to see if it might be from him.
