Does she know?

She doesn’t know!

Chapter 6 by ForFoxSake___

Jenna turned the side-view mirror over in her hands, frowning at the cracked plastic housing. The morning sun caught the glass and flashed across her face. She tilted it this way and that, checking the angle the way she always did when something on the car felt off.

“Yeah, it’s definitely loose,” she muttered, more to herself than to the two boys still standing there like they’d been hit with a stun gun. “I knew I should’ve tightened it last week.”

She held the mirror up at eye level and used the reflection to tidy a stray lock of hair that had fallen across her forehead. The glass only showed her from the chin up. She didn’t tilt it any lower. Why would she? She already knew what she looked like.

A car honked as it rolled past. Jenna glanced up, gave a small, polite wave with the hand that wasn’t holding the mirror, and went back to inspecting the clip. Her other hand rested on her hip without thinking. The motion made her breasts lift and settle, the nipples tightening a little in the cool morning air. She barely noticed. The breeze just felt nice after being cooped up in the apartment.

One of the boys made a strangled sound. Jenna looked at him, eyebrows raised.

“You okay? You look kind of pale.”

“F-fine,” he managed. His eyes were locked somewhere south of her collarbone. Jenna followed his gaze for half a second, then shrugged. Boys always stared. It was annoying, but it wasn’t new.

She set the mirror on the roof of the car and bent forward to peer at the mounting bracket on the door. The position put her ass toward the street and her chest hanging freely. A delivery van slowed down so the driver could get a longer look. Jenna didn’t register any of it. She was too busy trying to figure out whether the plastic tab was cracked or just dirty.

“I can probably just pop it back on for now,” she said, straightening up. Her breasts bounced once and came to rest. She brushed an imaginary speck of dust from her stomach the same way she would have brushed it off a shirt. “Thanks for handing it over. Seriously, don’t mess with people’s cars, okay?”

The second boy nodded so hard his neck looked like it might snap. Jenna gave them both a brief, distracted smile, the kind she used on classmates she didn’t have time to talk to.

She opened the driver’s door, tossed her bag onto the passenger seat, and dropped into the seat. The leather was cool against her bare skin. She shifted, making a small face.

“Ugh, I really need to get this thing detailed. It feels weird today.”

She pulled the door shut, started the engine, and checked the rearview mirror—again only her face. Satisfied that her hair looked decent, she pulled away from the curb.

The two boys finally remembered how to breathe as her car disappeared around the corner.

Jenna drove with the windows down, one hand on the wheel, the other tapping the beat of the song in her earbuds against her thigh. Every so often she absently scratched an itch on her ribcage or adjusted how she was sitting. The air moving across her chest and stomach felt good. She rolled her shoulders and settled deeper into the seat, already thinking about the stack of books she needed for Monday’s lecture.

Traffic was light. She hummed along with the music, glanced at the time on her phone in the cup holder, and took the familiar turn toward campus. The library was only a few minutes away. She could already picture the quiet corner table she liked on the third floor.

A guy on a bicycle did a double-take as she passed him at a stop sign. Jenna didn’t notice. She was too busy mentally listing the call numbers she needed.

The library parking lot came into view up ahead.
