Chapter 9

Will Khala face this new challenger?
She doesn't want to, but...
Khala starts to worry things could go terribly wrong, and looks for an excuse to bail. She loves gambling and its inherent risk, but she isn't a fan of getting stabbed or otherwise beaten up by big scary people.
The rogue starts to look around aa she concocts a good excuse for leaving. That's when she spots the mage she humiliated off in a corner, her face red and her hands tightly holding her barrel. Evidently this bossy knight **** her to lead the way back to this bar, and then made her stick around to identify Khala.
"Uh... are you sure you want to play?" The rogue asks. "I think your friend could use your help over there."
The knight turns around and sees her hapless friend. Two drunks are bothering her, but the mage is too timid at this point to do anything about them.
"Excuse me," the knight says as she picks up her sword and then hurls it across the tavern like a javelin. It strikes the wall, only a couple of inches away from the two harassers, who both promptly scream and flee the building.
Poor Gilda (the mage) jumps in fear, letting go of her barrel and exposing much of her own naked body to the crowd once more, before she regains her composure and pulls it back up into place.
Khala gulps nervously as the knight smugly smiles.
"Oh Gilda," says the knight in a sing-song voice. "Will you be a dear and bring that back here? And pull up a chair while you're at it." She turns back around to face Khala. "I want her to see me win the pants right off of you!"
A wicked grin spreads across the knight's face as she picks up the cards.
How does she do?
