She does what she's told and goes shopping

Krissy thought briefly about making a run for it. She could take Principal Howard's money and get on a bus to the city today. But what if she got caught? What if she didn't get caught and she made it to the city? A dropout with whatever money she had left, with no friends and nowhere to stay. That sounded scarier than staying here and doing what she was told.

With that in mind Krissy walked toward the nearest store that sold clothes. She would do what Principal Howard told her. She'd buy the new outfit, and wait for him to call her. She would have to go home tonight, which was scary, but she thought she could avoid her stepfather's advances if she was careful. This way she could finish school and then get out of town.

Maybe she could save a little money before she left. It would make the move safer. As these thoughts passed through Krissy's mind, she stepped into the doors of the clothing store, the clerk at the register nodding to acknowledge her as she entered.

Krissy walked directly to section that had the clothes she was looking for, finding some skirts and button up shirts that she thought would please Principal Howard.

There were a lot to choose from. Some were what she would consider legitimate school clothes, while others seemed to be designed to be especially revealing. The more conservative items seemed like something she would be more comfortable in, but she thought maybe the more revealing clothes would please Principal Howard.

Krissy wasn't sure which ones she should get. Could she even bring herself to walk around in some high cut skirt or a shirt that barely covered her? She considered her options, a little embarrassed to even be standing next to the skimpier items.
