She does not notice

The woman did not notice. Her bun was so thick, there was no way for it to get to her scalp. This gave John an idea. He froze the woman again. He went to the nearest trashcan and found some popsicle sticks, a few straws, and a half-melted lollipop. He went back and stuck all of these in the young woman's bun. He then unfroze her.

The woman just kept reading.

John froze her again. This time he stuck four twigs in hair, two of them had leaves on them. Again, when she unfroze, she did not notice - her hair bun was just that thick.
