But instead the woman flabber her forehead with her palm. “Oh, yeah, duh, I’d forgotten that’s what you two bought.” Then she took another look at Paula and let out a whistle. “Wow, only had it a day and already she became a bimbo, huh?”

Well, that cleared some things up: the coins were definitely to blame. Rather than answering the question he’d actually just been asked, Jed instead asked a question of his own. “How do we turn her back? Is there a way to use my coin to do that?” Some dark corner of his mind secretly added that he wasn’t exactly in a hurry to turn her back, he just needed to know how he’d do it.

The clerk flinched, and Jed’s hopes fell. “I’m not going to tell you it’s impossible, but the tools you have aren’t great for the job. The gold coin changes you based on how you act, so she would need to act in a way contrary to the changes, but that could just change her into another stereotype you don’t want. I’ve never heard of anyone being able to use the gold coin to get back to normal.

“The silver coin is pretty different. You can state outright what you want, and it changes history to fit it. Everyone who doesn’t see the coin’s glow won’t even realize things used to be any other way, unless they’re the target. The problem is, since she was changed with the gold coin, you’d need to word what you want pretty specifically. It doesn’t matter if she was _never _a bimbo, but the coin made her one recently, y’know?” Then, giving a cheery smile, she finished, “That all said, don’t give up all hope. We may not have what you need, but there’s a place in town called Spells R Us that should have something that can help, the wizard always does.” With all the weird things going on, Jed had no clue if that was a joke or if the guy was really a wizard. “The only problem with him is sometimes his solutions aren’t ones you particularly like.”
