She does, and you meet another student

Monica continues to show you around, taking you through the sports complex, which looks impressively elaborate for a school of this size, and then to other parts of the campus, pointing out various highlights as you go.

You've reached the Mellon building, which Monica tells you contains housing for second year students when you see a young woman pulling a wheeled case behind her.

"Theresa!" Monica says happily. "It's so great to see you back! Welcome!" The girl looks up with a diffident smile, looking slightly uncomfortable as Monica hugs her. Her wavy black hair frames a face devoid of makeup, and her somewhat dowdy clothes look like she's doing her best not to look pretty.

"This is our new history and geography teacher, Mr. Sharp. This is Theresa Maglio, one of my very best students."

Theresa accepts your hand with a limp cool grip, mumbling something polite and indifferent before going on her way. Monica looks after her with an expression of sadness on her face.

"Poor Theresa. She had a bad time last year. She was hazed by some of the older girls. I don't know the details, but apparently it was pretty rough. She was off school for a couple of weeks, and when she came back she wouldn't talk about it. I know that there was an investigation, but only a few people know the details. Her grandfather actually sent bodyguards with her for a while."

You look doubtful, and she nods her head in affirmation.

"It's true. Two guys. You can bet Ms. Naylor wasn't happy about it, but the Board of Regents went along with Theresa's grandfather so there wasn't much she could do. They took turns escorting her to class, and they were always sitting in a car over there at night. In fact that's them now," she nods towards the parking lot of the Mellon Building where you see a black late model car with two men standing beside it.

You stop suddenly, realising that you recognise one of them. What's more, from the way he's staring, he recognises you.
