How does she react?

She's mildly impressed.

Chapter 79 by Impregmaniac

Voi scoffs. "I see it's picked up a few tricks. But we'll see if it's enough later." Turning back to Selas, she crosses her arms and cocks her hips. "So what do you want out of this deal?"

Selas gasps in mock insult. "What makes you think I want anything? Can't I just... be a good friend?"

Even without any features, you can tell than an a eyebrow went up and lips were pursed. "Right... because only the best of friends lend out pets. For absolutely no reason." The sarcasm is palpable. Selas just grins smugly. Shaking her head, Voi just takes her arm and starts walking out of the room, asking her for a little tour and what else she's been up to around here. With nothing to do until dinner, you follow behind quietly, taking the time to discover the dozens of new rooms in your home while they catch up.

But, Voi does not make any attempts to not voice her disapproval of you. However, she does not do anything more than simply acknowledge your existence and will usually shoulder check you out of her way if you happened to be in it. Selas just shakes her head and tells you to not let it get to you. "She takes some getting used to," she says to you quietly while Voi takes a few experimental clicks on your television remote, "just give her time and she'll come around." A frustrated grunt and the bonk of an over-the-shoulder toss of a remote onto your head makes you doubt that.

After another tense but delicious dinner, you turn your guest room's latch to the Nox crest, a large white comet over a black circle. It clunks into place and after a couple of supportive thumbs up from Selas and Nanny Mara, you knock and enter.

Appropriately, Voi's room is nothing but space. A dark empty blackness peppered with millions upon millions of stars and planetoids. The only thing that has any kind of understandable shape is a seat or stool of some sort, made out of comets' tails. "So, you've arrived," her voice says, coming from everywhere around you. You look around for her, but she blends in with the room too well. A star explodes silently in front of you, and finally visible against the supernova, you see Voi walking over to you. "I know what you're thinking," she says, her eyes matching the same intensity of the cosmic explosion going off behind her. "You want to know why I'm being such a bitch to you."

"It had crossed my mind," you respond coolly, trying not to squint. Against the explosion, you think she might have extremely fine and wispy hair. But with the fading light, you still can't tell.

She stops a couple steps away from you, and the two of you glare at each other, trying to stare the other down. Another star goes off next to you, and you have to turn away to not go blind. And in that moment, you feel a heavy weight crash into you and overlapping cold lips press upon yours, kissing you furiously, before an angry snarl rumbles in your ear. "It's because you knocked her up first."
