Chapter 24 by Shandy Shandy

What do you learn?

She's an eclectic reader

While Ms. Considine is gone you look around the room, noting a range of magazines and books left on tables, the arms of chairs and in a few cases on the floor. The magazines seem to be evenly split between science journals and current affairs periodicals, and the books are a mix of science, poetry and classic fiction. You pick up a copy of the collected works of T.S. Eliot, opening it to the bookmarked page and finding yourself looking at the starting choruses of the Four Quartets.

"Do you like Eliot?" Ms. Considine's voice asks.

"I haven't read much of him since I was in college," you answer with a smile. "But I enjoyed it a lot then."

"Tea will be ready in a few minutes," she says, gesturing you to a chair. "Make yourself comfortable. And in that spirit, let's get on a first name basis since we're colleagues. It's Donna and Mason, ok?"

"Fine with me," you smile, taking a seat in a comfortable looking Morris chair.

"Excellent. So Mason, what do you want to know about our fine educational institution? Any questions, or would you just like me to ramble?"

Do you have questions? Or just ask her to talk
