She's a bit shocked.

You watch him running away and he disappears around a building. Turning back to Jane you notice she is pretty much in the same position she was in and is staring blankly at you.

"Are you ok" you ask approaching her.

"I...I-I...I have some good deals o-on my westward walls" she half gestures west "a-and I have..." she stops talking for a bit and you see some tears welling up in her eyes.

"Hey...you're ok now, that man is gone. He won't be coming back either" you say as calming as you can. She starts sniffling with her arms at her sides and her shoulders drooping down. You're very close to her now so you slowly reach out and draw her into a hug. At first she just stands their sniffling, but once she realizes you are hugging her she wraps her arms around you and starts to really cry.

"He-he-he was going...t-to..." she tries to talk between sobs.

"I know, but we didn't let him did we. Right Jane? He's gone now and you're safe now, right" you try to comfort her and bring her into the present. Annabel and Yvette are now wrapping their arms around Jane. You weren't quite sure when they got there, but you were glad they were trying to help. It wasn't until Copper stepped forward and bumped his nose into her cheek issuing little chirps that she really seemed to come out of it. She brought a hand up to scratch Copper under the chin, which Copper really seemed to enjoy.

"Holy shit" she laughed between sobs "it's a raptor. I've finally gotten to meet a raptor" she says smiling. Copper lowers his head and puts his forehead to her forehead and coos softly. The three of you release your hug so she can hold his cheeks with her hands. She closes her eyes as they remain that way for a moment.

"His name is Copper" you tell her.

"Hello Copper" she says.

"Tonight Copper is going to be staying with you. If you would like him too that is" you ask. Jane nods her head stroking Copper's cheeks.

"I'd really like that" she adds.

"Good" you state. You let time pass as Jane is comforted by Copper. After a while she disengages from Copper and takes the three of you in.

"Annabel, what are you doing here" she asks.

"It's one of those short but long stories for another time" Annabel smiles back. "For now I'm here with John and Yvette" she gestures at you both. Jane's eyes grow wide as she looks between the two of you.

"Oh my Gods, it's really you. The man with the raptor everyone has been talking about" she says in disbelief "I had hoped you'd come here at some point so I could see your rap...uh...Copper here, I never thought you'd end up...you know...showing up in the middle of..." she said drifting into a distant stare.

"Hey, we're still here right now. Whatever was going to happen didn't so don't waste your brain thinking about it now" you interrupt her snapping her back to attention. "Look, this is fresh, you're brain is going to want to visit it over and over. That's fine, there is nothing wrong with that. To try to understand something that really can't be understood. Just make sure that when you do think about it you have something that will bring you back from thinking about it. As time passes that will get easier to do, but for now try to keep doing something that will demand your attention. Like your beautiful craft for instance" you smile as you gesture at the various items hanging on the walls. She idly strokes Copper's neck as she looks around her shop.

"Geez where are my manners" you suddenly state. "I am John Doe, it's nice to meet you" you tell her holding your hand out for her to shake. In truth you wanted to gauge if she would want more physical contact with a man. You'd already hugged her, but she was in shock at that point. She looks down at your hand, and after a very brief moment of hesitation she reaches out and grabs your hand shaking it vigorously with a smile.

"Hello John, I'm Jane Smith and welcome to my shop" she says keeping a smile on her face. You let out a deep sigh.

"You're going to be just fine Jane" you smile back at her "I can already tell".
