Shaw Science ends its takeover bid

After a lovely pasta dinner that night, wearing Zoe as promised, you fell asleep as one body. You usually spent time in two bodies in bed so you could cuddle and so Zoe could read the news in the morning as part of your fun ritual, but this time you kept her on the whole time, which made her feel safer. Even though neither of you slept well that night, at least you felt safe with each other.

Morning rolled around, and you had your TV on as you lounged in bed, feeling like you earned a lazy day. You scrunched your toes under the sheets, your fingers teasing along Zoe's silk sleepwear that she liked to wear.

"Caving to protestors outside Hideki Labs, Simon Shaw of Shaw Sciences has retracted his bid for the Hideki Technology satellite company. Dr. Shaw stated that he couldn't afford to buy out the labs while he and his board of directors faced sudden allegations of insider trading, with Shaw stating on the record that he knew about three incidents last year in which he and his board illegally used information to gain an advantage in trading."

You didn't have to wonder much about what might have brought that about fate for Shaw, as Chloe likely manipulated things he said, or possibly even browsed his memories, as horrible of a minefield as that is. You would have settled for more punching. But the news claimed his crime was severe enough, with enough evidence supporting it, that his inevitable jail sentence would be a few years at least.

As for you and Zoe... well, for as brief as the day before was, there was still trauma that needed healing. It led to conversations about wearing Zoe, what to do if something like this happens again, your feelings for each other and your worry about how the world would accept a living bodysuit.

After enough talk, though, you and Zoe agreed on a change of pace, and you spend the remainder of the morning researching flights to some carefree vacation spot.
