Jake slid into the gym shorts, hiking them up to his waist. They were definitely a few sizes too big, but he could hold them up with one hand while keeping the other hand free. He turned his head over to Amber. Unfortunately, the tank top did a much worse job of covering her, as a result of just how much there was to cover. The athletic guy laughed. "Don't mention it. Just try not to get caught, alright?"

Jake nodded, and the two headed off into the darkness.

Amber brushed up to Jake's side, as the two walked barefooted through the cold grass. "Hey," she whispered, "thanks for sticking up for me back there. When Rex took off, I was sure I was a goner."

Jake still felt a bit awkward holding up a conversation, but he did his best. "Yeah, uh, don't mention it. I couldn't just leave you back there."

She chuckled. "Clearly Rex could."

"Yeah, I guess. Sorry you didn't get anything else to wear. I'll lend you some pants when we get to my dorm.

Amber smiled warmly, leaning her head on Jake's bare shoulder. "Sounds good."
