Chapter 2

Whom does the Brain choose as the first example?
Shadowheart
When The Emperor entered the cell where Shadowheart was being kept, the illithid had to shield his eyes as the door opened. Within the Cleric of Shar was surrounded by four former clerics of Selune, each infected with a tadpole and tasked with surrounding Shadowheart in daylight. Each of the female clerics seemed to have been tasked with another duty, as the pale skin of the Sharran was marked by welts and bruises, the clerics surrounding her each held an implement of punishment.
The young woman was crouched in the corner, stripped of her armour but her purple stylised underwear had not been removed as of the moment. When the Emperor entered the room, the four True Soul clerics bowed in respect to the embodiment of The Absolute and filed out of the room, leaving their daylight emitting items behind to keep tormenting Shadowheart.
The Emperor swept forward, hovering several inches above the ground. Looking down at Shadowheart he spoke as gently as he could, trying his best to temper the hatred the Elder Brain felt for the Cleric.
“Shadowheart, I have been instructed to offer you a choice. You can stay in the light and the forces of the Absolute will enjoy your body. Or you can venture into the dark and your goddess will punish you for failing her…whilst also securing the pact forged between Shar and the Absolute.”
Does Shadowheart remain within the Light? Or take her chances in the dark?

Baldur’s gate
Victory of the Absolute
What happens if the heroes of Baldur’s gate are defeated and left at the mercy of the Absolute and its forces? The Absolute may not fully understand the reasons, but it knows these heroes must be destroyed and there are far more exciting ways to do so than by killing them.
