Setting up the plan

"This is incredible" Chloe said whilst reviewing the data on her computer.

"Is that from Emily?" Zoe asked, wondering over with a freshly prepared bowl of salad in her hands. She takes another mouthful whilst looking at the data from over Chloe's shoulder for a couple of seconds before swallowing the food down. "When is this from?", Zoe asked.

"Immediately after Ela detached from merging Emily and Laura. I thought I better take a blood sample just in case, we've never seen humans merge together before" Chloe replied. "But look at this", Chloe pointed to a section of the data on the screen whilst Zoe looked closer at the screen. "The amount of nanites in Laura's blood is slowly increasing. It could be possible that the nanites in Laura's blood are multiplying by themselves the more she spends time in Ela. Now it may be a residual result of the merging process, but I would like to take another sample tomorrow. If the nanites continue to multiply by themselves, then we'll likely see more and more of her personality shown through Ela", Chloe said struggling to contain her excitement at the possible breakthrough.

"Are you sure? We've been trying to get nanites to self-multiply for the last 3 years", Zoe asked.

"I hope so, just think of the medical breakthrough if we could develop nanites to heal and repair injuries. Maybe they could even work alongside the bandages.....hmm?" Chloe wondered but then stopped as her phone began to ring.

"Hey Amanda, how did your date go?" Chloe asked her friend and public form.

"Hi Chloe, it went really good thanks. It did help that he's only just started working at Hideki labs. I just said that I also worked in lab but didn't give any details Boy he's going to get the shock of his life when you walk me into his room for the first time!" Amanda giggled down the phone.

"Oh you foxy devil, I love it. Well, I'm glad you had a good time. Anyway, what's up?" Chloe asked.

"Ow right, sorry I got carried away for a moment there. Listen I'm so sorry Chloe but whilst you and Zoe were upstairs with Ela and Emily...err I mean Laura now. Gosh that's going to take some getting used to. Anyway, I think I left out tests SLIMEX01. Please could you double check that I didn't leave them out? I'm sorry to ask at this late hour" Amanda asked down the phone.

"Hey no worries. I don't expect you to come back in for something like that. It'll only take me a few minutes and beside I really hate to think what those slimes could do to the lab if the tests get knocked over. Those workstations are expensive" Chloe said reassuringly to Amanda.

"Thank you, Chloe. Again, I'm really sorry, I'll come in earlier tomorrow for you" Amanda replied.

"No rush Amanda, we've got plenty going on with Ela and Laura anyway. You enjoy the rest of your night", Chloe said.

"Ow I intend to..." Amanda said and then started to whisper down the phone, "I brought him back to my place, he's just in the bathroom at the moment. I can't wait for you to see the abs on this guy!".

"That a girl! Have fun!" Chloe said and then made a kiss on the phone before hanging up.

"Sounds like Amanda is having fun tonight" Zoe asked.

"Yea, I swear she gets more and more like me every day hehe. Anyway, I just need to pop downstairs and check SLIMEX01 isn't loose" Chloe said whilst getting up out of her chair and heading for the door.

"If that slime destroys anything of mine again, you're paying for it" Zoe called after Chloe.

"It was ONE handbag! You're never going to let that go, are you?" Chloe couldn't help but laugh remembering the incident.

"Nope!" Zoe said and playfully stuck her tongue out at Chloe.

"Whatever, see you in a few" Chloe said sarcastically then disappeared out the door heading to the lab.

A couple of minutes later, there was a knock on the apartment door.
