Chapter 8 by dialectic dialectic

What's next?

Setting up the date, then bump into a colleague

Strange as today has been, thanks to the rings, it has been working up to be marvelous day. "Absolutely," you say. "Uh, would tonight work, maybe 8 o'clock?"

"Sure!" Mary chirps. "Where should we go?"

"Maybe we could meet up at La Piazza on Oak Street? They do great pizza and pasta, nothing too dressy."

"Sounds good to me!" Mary says, smiling wide.

"Excellent," you smile back. You wonder how to put a bow on this weird and wonderful encounter. "Mary, I have to run to work now. I'm guessing you don't normally encourage men to play with your body in public, but I'm glad you decided today to make an exception for me."

"It was literally my pleasure Nick," Mary says with a playful smirk, "and I got to see a size of you that I've never seen before," she says glancing down at your trousers. "Oops, I meant a side of you," she corrects herself, giggling at her 'slip'.

"I'm sure," you say deadpan. "Okay, see you tonight at 8!"

"See you, big guy!" She giggles as she walks away.

Right. Somehow, these rings must give you unspecified powers to change what others consider appropriate behavior. As far as you know, all males grope all females in greeting and people to openly observe and discuss men's penis size now. But there's also something weird happening ; you're getting away with things other people don't consider normal, since you don't see anyone else bringing off girls in the street.

You don't really feel like going to work, so you slowly walk down the sidewalk, looking around to see what else is different.

After maybe an hour or so, you suddenly see a familiar face walking towards you. It's June, your supervisor from your office. *Shit, busted*, you think.

June notices you and walks up towards you. "Hi Nick," she says with a friendly but uncertain smile. "Shouldn't you be at work by now?" she asks, pushing her chest towards you.

"Uh, hi June," you say, lifting your hands to fondle her chest. "Yeah, I guess so. But I've suddenly started feeling very strange, like I have vertigo or something. I've been trying to decide whether to call in sick. I guess I can do that in person now."

June nods sympathetically. "Okay {firstname}, no problem." She does not make any mention of the fact that you are still fondling her chest.

It occurs to you that this could be a good opportunity to experiment with your new reality.

What do you do with June?
