Chapter 163 by kiahoga

Derek Shaw finished setting up his new X-box Series S in the living room of the sweet house sitting gig he'd scored. After finishing his calculus homework, he was sitting down to play some GTA online.

Ding, Dong.

Derek paused his game, looking up. "That's weird; Mr. Hawkes didn't say anything about someone coming by."

Ding, Dong.

Sitting down his controller, the young man got up and shuffled to the door. Flipping the light switch next to the door, he looked through the peephole; he couldn't see much. Looked like porch light had burned out.

"Who is it?" he called out.

"Door Dash." Was the immediate reply.

Derek blinked before replying. "Think you got the wrong address, my dude? I didn't order any."

There followed 15 seconds of silence before the voice came back. "I just double-checked one Dave's #2 with fries for 2207 Juniper St."

Derek smiled, thinking, "Maybe Mr. and Mrs. Hawkes got me something."

Unlocking the deadbolt Derek opened the door, saying. "Cool, do I have to sign anything?"

UNFFFFF

Exploded from his lung. Looking down, Derek saw the knife jammed into his chest just under his rib cage. The hand holding the knife quickly withdrew all 6 inches if the blade and blood started pouring into his lung.

Eyes wide, the young man staggered back as the shadowed figure pushed forward.

UUNFFFFGG... gurgle.

Errupted from his throat as the knife flashed again and entered his chest, puncturing his other lung.

Strength left him quickly, and Derek staggered back into the hallway before collapsing to the floor. Looking up, even as his vision dimmed, Derek saw a scraggly Asian man in an army surplus jacket. His beard was unkempt and his eyes burned with a demonic fury. In his left hand was a pistol. His right was a 6-inch knife. Dripping with his blood.

Choking on his own blood, the last thing Derek felt and heard was the man spitting on him. Followed by, "One less fucking Bae-gin."

Jae cackled with laughter as the young Bae-gin shuddered and died. It has been so easy. Turning, he kicked the door closed and thanked his ancestors.

He'd been casing the neighborhood when the Bae-gin got home from school. Jae had been tempted to reveal himself and start shooting when his whore of a daughter and her friend got out of the car. But luck had been smiling on him.

Kneeling down, Jae cleaned his knife on the dead Bae-gin's jeans before putting the weapons in his pockets. Satisfied, he dragged the body to the first bedroom he came to and closed the door.

"Six days," he cackled. Six days till his righteous justice was complete.
