But you can see that Valerie is alone, and you haven't gotten a chance to talk with her. The only time you did was the brief "accident" at your locker.
If not, Jeff is laying on the table, sleeping like a dog. But then he sees you and starts waving at you to signal to sit right next to him, with his bright smile and home-brought lunch box.
On the other hand, Donna seems to not care about your presence, mostly just talking with Valerie about some school drama. But you can tell that she has been side-eyeing you this whole time. Almost like she wanted you to sit next to her.
