Chapter 19 by android1966 android1966

Now who do we look in on?

See where Faith is.

"Hello pumpkin, it's been a while. I've missed you."

Faith looked across the chevy's cab at the speaker. If she was shocked or afraid to see Mayor Richard Wilkins III sitting in the passanger seat beside her she didn't show more than a flicker of these emotions. The Mayor smiled at her in a fatherly way.

"Look at you." He said, sounding proud of Faith. "All grown up and heading back to Sunnydale to confront your old demons."

"I thought you were dead." Faith said, her voice betraying her feelings more than her expression.

"Still dead I'm afraid Faith." The Mayor said with a sigh as Faith reached out and her hand passed through his cheek. "Buffy and her friends made sure of that. But that doesn't mean I won't be here to watch over my little girl."

Faith's eyes filled with unshed tears. She'd driven most of the day and was only a few miles from Sunnydale now. Her head was more messed up than ever and though his presence made no real sense she felt grateful relief that she now had the Mayor to talk to about how she felt. She sniffled and shifted in the driver's seat, one breast jiggled and popped out of the side of the faded bib and brace dungarees that she'd stolen from the mexican gardener.

"I'm so confused." Faith confessed to the Mayor, in what was a gross understatement. "I was trying to be a good girl. Doing my time in prison for all the hurt I caused. Then it just came to me last night, how I could make everything right and start over."

"That's good news pumpkin. All I ever wanted for you was to see you happy." The long dead Mayor replied. "What do you need to do?"

"I need Xandra." Faith said, her voice softening as she said the name. The nipple on her exposed tit visably stiffened as her thoughts turned to Xandra "I don't know why it took so long to realise that, but it's clear now. We need to be together, she's the only one who ever loved me for myself."

The First Evil thought about that for a moment. It had appeared as the Mayor to Faith to assess how this new arrival might effect it's plans in Sunnydale. At first it was concerned by the approach of another slayer. On closer investigation of Faith's mind it had realised that the dark haired girl was already slipping in and out of insanity. The amusing consequences of melding the eye of Olric into Alexander Harris were rippling out from Sunnydale, better than the First could have hoped.

"And when you find Xandra, what then?" The First asked.

"We'll run away together." Faith said, a little uncertainly. "Maybe go to Virginia and get a farm high in the Blue Ridge mountains."

"We'll get married and have seven children." Faith babbled, her eyes glazing as she descended into her personal fantasy world. "Xandra's a carpenter, she could run a lumberyard. I'd bake apple pie and sit on the porch watching the children play in the yard."

The First was lost for words a moment. Trying to picture this psychotic girl in a country dress, living in an episode of the Waltons. Exactly how Faith imagined the children would come about with Xandra as her partner was beyond reasoning. This was an ideal opportunity to twist the girl's deluded fantasies to the First's own advantage.

"Faith, pumpkin, Xandra is with the witches." The First told the slayer. "They've cast spells on her and will try to keep her from you. Buffy will of course take their side and prevent you from being with Xandra. Hasn't she always taken away anyone that loved you? I loved you like a daughter and she killed me, Gwendolyn Post treated you like a mother would have and Buffy killed her too."

Faith nodded, her expression setting in a determined scowl. Never mind the fact that both the Mayor and Gwendolyn Post were mad and evil and had used her for their own schemes, all she remembered now was that they had appeared to favour her and Buffy had killed them. Buffy was always there to kill any brief happiness in her life.

"I'll have to kill Buffy and the witches then." Faith said.

"Faith, honey." The First said gently. "Maybe you might want to pop that boob away first. Vengeance is a dish best served without a big firm titty bouncing about."

What now?
