Chapter 6

What's next?

See if anyone knows about the app

Because all her best friends were already present, and her leggings didn't have any pockets, Mercy had left her phone in her locker. "You guys don't like it?" She said, smiling. She didn't really care if they liked it or not, it was happening. She needed it.

Adrienne pursed her lips. "It's not... bad, per se. I could see myself wearing something like that, actually, depending on the setting... but why are you wearing it here?"

"Looks cheap." Emily blurted out. Mercy could already tell the brunette was jealous that she had done something to pull even more attention away from her. Of course, it was cheap. That was part of the fun. It was reckless, attention-seeking, and bold. Nothing Mercy was used to. She could slap it on a few times a day and not strain her finances and enjoy a new thrill at the same time.

Mercy ignored their comments. "I found a weird app on my phone today. Some kind of gatcha thing that promised change. I don't know where it came from, but when I touched it, it told me I would want to wear makeup like this... and it's so weird because now I really do."

All three girls looked at each other, clearly ignorant to any knowledge of the app. Tori shrugged. "Whatever floats your boat." She raised her hand to signal a pair of men who would be belaying for us. "We're ready over here!"

Ah, yes. The boys. This place had some great boys. The boys for Mercy and friends for the night were Eric and Sam. Both were right around six feet tall and athletic with lean, well-defines muscles. Tori immediately sidled up next to Sam; it was no secret she had a thing for black guys. mercy and the others figured that Tori had already slept with Sam at least twice in the year or so they'd been going to the place. He put a hand on the swell of her hip and greeted her warmly.

"Good evening, ladies." Eric said, politely ignoring his coworker feeling up Mercy's friend as he helped her into her harness. Eric was the one every girl wanted. He was powerful and beautiful, when he put hands on a girl for any reason, she swooned. His name popped up frequently in the locker room, but as far as anyone seemed to know, he never hooked up with any of the female customers; he barely even checked them out, at least not very obviously. But the general consensus was the he was only being professional. With the number of times Mercy or her friends had noticed him sporting a rather impressive erection in his tight little shorts, no one believed he was just gay. He was the forbidden fruit.

He looked directly at Mercy for a long moment before smirking slightly. "I like your eye makeup."

Emily gaped. It was closet to actual flirting that any of the group—including Adrienne, who probably preferred it that way—had ever received from him, and all it took was slathering on a large amount of cheap eye shadow.

Mercy beamed at the attention. "Thank you, Eric."

The hour proceeded without much else of interest. The girls took turns climbing the wall in pairs while the men belayed for them. Tori flirted with Sam, who was very clearly super into it. Although the girls did notice Eric's attention frequently drawn back to Mercy.

At one point, while it was Adrienne and Mercy on the ground watching, the dark-haired model said, too quietly to be overheard. "I've heard of that app, by the way. No one knows much about it, but from what I have heard..." She looked around and then added, "...it's already too late to get out of it. You're going to have to keep playing until it's over." She hesitated. "I've been trying to learn more about it for a month. Please, share with me anything you find out, and... I want you to tell me everything it does to you. Please."

Mercy was surprised. Adrienne was usually fairly dispassionate. She was always so cool, calm, and poised. Now she seemed nervous, possibly excited. And unless Mercy was entirely misreading the situation... aroused?
