Security is an illusion

You walk through your house with Anna, discussing where you should install the inside security cameras. You hadn’t realized how annoyingly large your house was until you needed to secure it. Trying to install cameras without invading anyone’s privacy was difficult as well. Still, it was pleasant to walk around with Anna at your side, stealing a kiss every so often.

Maya and Elys were relaxing on the couch, having just finished working out together. They had become fast friends, and any night Maya didn’t spend in your bed, she spent with the voluptuous gorgon. You couldn’t help but be a little jealous, having heard some lovely sounds through the door on several occasions. Elys seemed to enjoy teasing you with her body, but had told you that she is more cautious about touching, at least with a man. You didn’t want to push, and told her that you’re happy if she’s happy

And honestly, you aren’t sure if you could handle her on top of the other girls. You make a mental note to check the Auction for ‘naughty’ magic.

As your mind wanders, you and Anna keep working. Once the cameras are set you’ll feel a lot better, although you’ve received no more threats from the HPP. Rachel had been serious about her concerns though, so you are sure that something will happen at some point.

While you’re thinking of that, you’re interrupted by a blast of sound and shouting from the living room. Dropping what you’re carrying, you run back towards the sound. You try to tell Anna to hide, but she wordlessly stays with you.

Before you can reach the living room, you hear Maya growling as you round the corner.

“Call me a lizard one more time and I’ll rip this off and feed it to you!”

You look at the scene before you in surprise and awe.

There are two men in the room. Maya has one pinned to the wall by his throat, his legs dangling off the ground and one of his arms hanging at an unnatural angle. Maya’s claws are fully extended and her eyes are glowing red. Her other hand is on his crotch, and she looks ready to carry out her threat.

Satisfied that he’s not a threat, you turn to the other man, who stands in front of Elys, slack jawed and unmoving. Elys glares at him, a silver glow coming from her eyes as the snakes in her hair hiss menacingly. You nod, turning to Anna. “We need ropes. Hurry.”

Anna bolts off, and you look at the items in the ground. A shock prod of some kind and a net. “Maya, they wanted to capture you. Are you ok?”

Maya nods, not releasing either grip on the man as Anna comes back with ropes. First you tie the man Elys has spellbound so that she can relax. As soon as the glow in her eyes fades, the man collapses. You check his pulse. “Just ****. Well done, Elys.”

Elys nods, glaring at the **** man. “They interrupted our cuddle time. Thisss isss unacceptable. I imagine that they are from thisss hate group.”

You finish tying the other man, who has also passed out from the pain of the savagely broken arm and from being strangled by an angry half-dragon. Maya’s eyes fade to a normal red and her claws and scales recede to normal. “Jackass called me a lizard. He’s lucky I didn’t rip that arm off.”

You give her a hug, laughing to relieve tension. “You’re scary sometimes, you know that?”

“You know I would never hurt you, Josh. But NO ONE will separate us. I couldn’t take being alone again.”

You squeeze her tight and gently kiss her forehead. “I won’t let that happen either, Maya. But I think it’s time we call Rachel, and tell her what happened.

You glance at your shattered front door. “And I don’t think these guys will play fair next time. I need to be prepared to help.”
