“What do you do?” Yeong looked over Sebek. The male Orc was larger in terms of size but lacked the power to make him actually threatening He was unarmed and had no discernible Tek on him, aside from the thin phone he carried. So, Yeong reasoned, the only real use for him was in his social ability and the fact that he was supposedly Kai's acquaintance. But, The Orc was not particularly sociable or charismatic. Quite the opposite. Sebek waffled before answering the question.

“I talk to people. I get unreasonably good deals and can maybe get something out of them they wouldn't otherwise share.”

“How?”

“It's complicated.”

“Is it like magic?” Janna questioned. The group were all sitting around the white folding table in the center of the small makeshift office within the warehouse.

“Yes.” Sebek pointed to her.

“It is like magic.”

“Why didn't you just say that to begin with? What is it?” Yeong pressed him, because despite claiming to have abilities Sebek seemed uncertain.

“I'm curious, too.” Janna backed Yeong up out of interest.

Yeong looked at Kai and shrugged. “I would if she asked directly so I guess I would, is my answer.” Kai's eyes flitted between Yeong and Sebek, her cheeks flushing.

“And that one?” He motioned back over his shoulder towards Lacie. She grinned cheerfully. Yeong looked up. His gaze lingered on her rather obviously.

“Letting it slide that I need to prove myself.” As Sebek said that he leaned forward and tapped Yeong's forehead. There was no threat in it. Barely any skill that could be discerned. It was just that after the tap Yeong felt fine letting it slide. He had a good feeling, though he didn't know where it came from.

“Sure, we can let it- Wait...” He felt his head.

Sebek smiled. “There you go. Convinced you of something you didn't want.”

Yeong had to respect it. He was right. He did not know how the Orc did it, but Sebek was right, it worked.

“How'd you do that?”

Janna looked the Orc over. “Yeah, how?” She offered Yeong and Kai a concerned look.

“Is it dangerous?”

The Orc chuckled nervously. “Honestly, yeah. I think it's a bit dangerous.”

“Good enough.” Yeong admitted. But he wasn't a fool. He had felt it first hand.

“I just need to know how you do it so you can't pull it on any of us from now on.”

“Come on.” Kai huffed.

“I think that's valid.” Sebek looked down at his phone and offered a light shrug.

“I didn't intend to so it's fine. The jobs that the group ran with Sebek were incredibly smooth. He was polite and professional, which Yeong appreciated. Despite the faint awkwardness in the way the Orc acted around others, the strength was in performing something that was completely unexpected to those on the receiving end. Sherri looked as though she was considering it for the first time. “Oh... Well, maybe. You think so? I don't.”

“What is she?”

“I wouldn't know.” The girl shrugged.

“You're taking on a lot of risk for me.” Yeong commented gratefully.

“It's the little things. The reason I'm still living. Being around interesting people is like listening to a great album for me. Hanging around a good group is a concert.”

“Should we head out as planned?”

Sherri shook her head. “No no. Something came up with Max. I've gotta go back and get destroyed.” She giggled.

“Have... Fun with that.” Yeong waved as she practically bounced out the door. With nothing else to do she saw Sebek and Kai walk into the office. Lacie descended the catwalk, likely to do some cleaning. With Janna taking full advantage of her own private space Yeong ascended the steps and opened the office door. He was not trying to be silent, so when he did Kai's head turned to look at him and Sebek turned his head to look at him. The two were engaged, or about to be.
