Chapter 16 by bigdamnvillain bigdamnvillain

What do you do?

Say goodbye (for now)

You signal for the check, which appears promptly. Your date pulls out a shiny black credit card whose limit has gotta be 10x yours, and you split the bill down the middle. Neither of you say a word as you get up and head for the elevator – what is there left to say? You’re only vaguely aware of the other diners as you cross the room, and barely hear the hostess' polite sendoff.

The elevator door opens and Diana precedes you inside. You stand side by side staring at the door, your companion ignoring you. As the elevator starts moving upwards, you decide it’s time to say something.

“I understand why you feel that way and I don’t…expect forgiveness.” You barely stop yourself from saying you don’t want/need her forgiveness, which is true but not the point you want to make just now. “I would only suggest that indulging in the eroticism of giving up control, of being completely at someone else’s mercy, with someone you trust – it kinda defeats the point.”

Diana’s face is a mask behind her huge glasses, but something in her stance softens slightly. “That may be a valid point. But if it is, there are plenty of men out there that I don’t trust. You are hardly unique in that way.”

The door pings open, and the two of you pass through the bodega and out onto the street. You’re wracking your brain trying to think of something else to say, but you can’t think of anything. Well that’s not entirely true – you can think of lots of things to say, just nothing that doesn’t sound idiotic.

The beautiful undercover heroine turns to face you one last time, her jaw set. “Do not attempt to contact me. If I see you again, things will go poorly. For you.”

You nod. “Enjoy the rest of your life, Diana Prince.”

And with that, she turn on her heels and walks briskly away. You watch the amazing beauty retreat, admiring how the green dress clings to her shapely ass. Then she turns a corner and without looking back she is gone.

“Well then. I guess I’d better make sure you don’t see me coming,” you muse to yourself.

To be continued
