Saving Roxanne and a Debrief

Wanda set Roxanne down on the floor. I quickly got down next to Roxanne and gave her the boon of immortality. “Wanda, heal her wound,” I commanded. She tried to do so, but her magic began faltering. “I can’t babe, I’ve used too much magic,” she said with a hint of guilt. “Damn, we’ll just have to let her come back,” I said. ““Will I…be ok?” Roxanne asked weakly. I turned to Roxanne and grabbed her by her hand.

“We can’t heal you, but…you’ll come back. My power made sure of that,” I replied. “Thank you,” she said.

“I should be thanking you,” I said to her. “You took that knife to save me. I promise you, as soon as you come back, you will be rewarded.”

A small tear left Roxy’s eye as she succumbed to her wound. “Becky, take Roxy to a bed. Let me know as soon as she wakes up,” I said through the hive mind. She came in and took Roxy away while I stayed on my knees.

“Dammit!” I yelled as I slammed my fists to the floor. Wanda tried to calm me down. “She’ll be alright babe. You saved her in the end.” I replied slightly recovered but still frustrated. “I know, but we can’t afford to have missions go like that, especially recruiting missions. One more mistake and I would’ve died, or Afton would’ve moved through the portal into our world. That would’ve been catastrophic. We need to figure out how that mission went so out of whack.”

Wanda and I went to the dining room to debrief and discuss what went wrong. Vanny stayed in the living room for now. After discussing the positive comments on the Avernus mission, we quickly moved on to the problems at the pizzaplex. Eventually, we determined that our destination was somewhat incorrect. “Of course, although I thought of going to the pizzaplex, there’s many dimensions where the pizzaplex exists. I must’ve accidentally taken us to a version where Afton was more powerful,” I said. “Makes sense babe. What’s next then?” Wanda asked. “Just gotta be more specific in choosing where to open my portals. For now, let’s rest up. Go ahead and relax or practice your magic,” I replied. Wanda nodded and left the room.

I returned to Vanny to change her to my taste before taking a break. I made her a happy **** and started giving her boons.
