Save the Humans

You rush to grab your bow ignoring the wolf behind you as it slashes at your back legs. You cry out in pain as its claws drag down your rump and down your legs. You instinctively kick back knocking it away as you fire your bow at one of the wolves attacking the injured man as it tries to bite his arm.

Hwin seems adept at fighting and has managed to catch her wolf's fur on fire and it runs of howling. Harrold jabs the spear at his wolf but it evades him but is **** to keep its distance. Shakaste gets a few good whacks with his staff on to his wolf causing it to back off a bit.

Hwin wheels round to help the injured man as you fill her space. You get one shot on the wolves that were pulling the manticore finding it too heavy they abandon the corps to come towards you.

Shakaste manages to hit his wolf on the head hard-knocking it out. He is surprisingly strong for an old man. He turns to help Harrold. Harrold's wolf leaps and Shakaste intercepts it mid-leap with his staff knocking it down allowing Harrold to spear it in the gut.

You get another shot at the advancing wolves, however, with your wounded shoulder you only get a glancing hit on one that stops advancing but is still alive. Harrold holds the other off and you watch the one you hit, turn and flee, limping from the arrow in its leg. You turn around to see Hwin slit the throat of the last wolf blood pouring from claw marks down here other arm where she had dropped the branch. The injured man was comforting his son and the girl as Sarah soothed the Manticore baby.

The pain from your injuries hits you as the adrenalin weres off and your back legs buckle.

"I think we will be safe for now." Shakaste remarks as he comes over to bandage your wounds. Harrold and Sarah move the wolf bodies out of the camp. The wolves have taken away the girl's dead mother but it cost them half their pack.

"You need to rest, we will keep watch." Shakaste instructs you and Hwin as he bandages her up.

You practically blackout with exhaustion pain and bloodloss. In the morning you get ready, taking the dead manticore, and limp back to town.
